Our Story

A small workshop. A long obsession.

What started as a single board that started as a hobby, has become a quiet practice — a workshop that makes the kind of timber pieces we'd want to keep for ourselves.
The workshop

We're a one-person workshop in Whangamata, Aotearoa. We work mostly with native and locally-Recycled native timbers — Rimu and others upon request — and finish everything in food-safe hard-wax oils. Nothing leaves the bench until it would feel at home in our own kitchen.

Each board, cabinet, or commission begins with the wood. We choose the timber personally, sketch the piece on paper, and build slowly. We believe the marks of the maker should be visible — not hidden under a factory finish.

"The best pieces don't shout. They earn their place in the kitchen, on the table, and eventually, in the family."

If you've found something you like, we'd love to make it for you. If you have an idea that isn't here, even better — the most interesting pieces start as a conversation.
